The Premier of Niue is like the main leader or "prime minister" of the island nation of Niue. This important person is the head of government, meaning they are in charge of running the country day-to-day.
The Premier is chosen by the members of the Niue Assembly, which is like Niue's parliament. Once elected, the Premier works with three other members of the Assembly to form a special group called the Cabinet. This Cabinet helps the Premier make big decisions for Niue.
