- Not be a leader of any church or religious group.
- Not be actively serving in the military during the six months before the election.

- Not be an officer or active soldier in the armed forces or law enforcement for at least 12 months before the election.
- Not be a close relative (like a spouse) of the current President or certain other leaders who held the presidency in the year before the election.
