The President of Honduras is the main leader of the country. This important role means they are both the head of state (the symbolic leader) and the head of government (the person who runs the country day-to-day). The President is also the Commander-in-chief of the country's Armed Forces.

Honduras has three main parts to its government: the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches. The President leads the Executive branch. Their most important job is to make sure the country's Constitution, laws, and agreements are followed. People in Honduras vote directly for their President, who serves for four years.
