Pride is a small community in Louisiana, United States. It is located in East Baton Rouge Parish. Pride is considered an "unincorporated community." This means it's a recognized place but doesn't have its own city government. Its special mail code, called a ZIP code, is 70770.
A Look Back in Time
Pride got its own post office way back in 1886. This means people could send and receive mail right there! No one is quite sure how Pride got its name. It remains a bit of a mystery.

The Community Library
The East Baton Rouge Parish Library runs the Pride-Chaneyville Branch Library. This library first opened its doors in 1941. Its very first location was inside the gymnasium of Pride High School.
In 1983, the library moved to a temporary building. This building was located on the grounds of Northeast Elementary School. It was about 782 square feet (72.7 m2) in size.
The library moved into its current, much larger building on December 12, 2005. This new building is about 12,086-square-foot (1,122.8 m2) big. It stands across from the elementary school and next to Northeast High School. The building was designed by Robert Coleman & Partners Architects. The branch was closed for a time for updates but reopened in February 2017.

The well-known actress Donna Douglas was born in Pride. She was famous for her role as Elly May Clampett on the TV show The Beverly Hillbillies.
