The Prime Minister of Morocco is also called the Head of Government (in Arabic: رئيس حكومة المملكة المغربية). This person leads the government of the Kingdom of Morocco. The king of Morocco chooses the Prime Minister from the political party that wins the most seats in the parliament.
The Constitution of Morocco gives the government its powers. The Prime Minister can suggest and remove members of the government, like ministers and ambassadors. They also manage government plans and public services. With the King's approval, the Prime Minister can even dissolve, or close down, the lower house of parliament.
When a new Prime Minister is chosen, they must form a new government. This involves talking with the King and parliament to decide who will be in charge of different government departments. The Prime Minister's term does not have a set limit, so some have served more than once.
In Morocco, the King is the head of state. This means the King has a lot of power over the government. The King also has special authority over the military, religion, and the courts. The Prime Minister is the head of government, but the King holds the highest position.
Since October 7, 2021, Aziz Akhannouch has been the Prime Minister of Morocco.

How the Prime Minister is Chosen
The Prime Minister of Morocco is not directly elected by the people. Instead, the King appoints them. This happens after a general election where people vote for members of parliament. The King usually chooses the leader of the political party that wins the most votes.
Forming a New Government
Once appointed, the Prime Minister's first big job is to create a new government. This means choosing people to be ministers in charge of different areas like education or health. The Prime Minister works with the King and parliament to make these important decisions. The new government officially starts its work after the King approves it.
