Princess Ariane of the Netherlands (full name: Ariane Wilhelmina Máxima Inés; born April 10, 2007) is the youngest daughter of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands. She is a member of the Dutch Royal House. Princess Ariane is currently third in line to become the next queen of the Netherlands.

Life of Princess Ariane
Princess Ariane was born in The Hague, Netherlands, on April 10, 2007, at 9:56 PM. She was the third child and youngest daughter of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima. After her birth, the Prime Minister, Jan Peter Balkenende, announced that both the princess and her mother were healthy. The next morning, her father showed his new daughter on television. Her full names were announced on October 26, 2007, when her birth was officially recorded in The Hague.
Princess Ariane's Baptism
Princess Ariane was baptized on October 29, 2007, at the Kloosterkerk in The Hague. A vicar named Deodaat van der Boon used water from the Jordan River for the baptism. Princess Ariane wore a special christening gown that Princess Wilhelmina first wore in 1880. More than 850 guests attended the ceremony. These guests included Princess Máxima's parents and the Dutch Prime Minister. Her godparents are important people who promise to help guide her. They include Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg and other family friends.
Princess Ariane's Education
Princess Ariane first attended the Christelijk Gymnasium Sorghvliet in The Hague. In May 2023, the Dutch Royal Court shared that the Princess would continue her high school studies. She moved to the UWC Adriatic in Italy. She successfully graduated from UWC Adriatic on May 24, 2025. Princess Ariane can speak Dutch, English, and Spanish.
Health and Hospital Stays
On May 2, 2007, Princess Ariane was taken to the Leiden University Medical Center. Doctors thought she might have a lung infection. She was released from the hospital on May 5, 2007, after getting treatment for a bacterial and viral infection. On June 13, 2007, her parents, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, thanked everyone for their good wishes. They were grateful for the congratulations on Ariane's birth and the support during her hospital stay. The royal couple received over 30,000 letters from well-wishers. Princess Ariane was admitted to the hospital again on October 8, 2009. She stayed for one night because of a breathing infection.

Princess Ariane's full official title is "Her Royal Highness Princess Ariane of the Netherlands, Princess of Orange-Nassau." In Dutch, this is "Hare Koninklijke Hoogheid Ariane Wilhelmina Máxima Inés, Prinses der Nederlanden, Prinses van Oranje-Nassau."
