Aurora Pro Patria 1919, often called Pro Patria, is an Italian football club. It is based in Busto Arsizio, a town in Lombardy, Italy. The team currently plays in Serie C, which is a professional football league in Italy.
The name "Pro Patria" comes from Latin. It means "For the Fatherland."

Club History and Journey
Early Years and Name Changes
The club first started in 1919. It was originally known as Pro Patria et Libertate.
Pro Patria played in Serie A, Italy's top football league, many times. Most of these appearances were in the first half of the 1900s. Their last season in Serie A was in 1955–56.
In 1995, the club faced some difficulties. It was removed from Serie D, which is a lower league.
A New Beginning: Pro Patria Gallaratese
To keep the club's history alive, another team, Gallaratese, stepped in. They changed their name to Pro Patria Gallaratese G.B.. The letters "G.B." stood for Gallarate and Busto Arsizio. This new club was seen as the direct continuation of the original Pro Patria.
The team played in the fourth tier of Italian football until 2002. That year, they won their playoff games and moved up to Serie C1. In 2008, they were moved down to Serie C2 after losing a playoff match. However, they were later allowed to return to Lega Pro Prima Divisione because a spot opened up.
In June 2008, new owners took over the club. They had big plans to help the team reach Serie B. The team played well in the Lega Pro Prima Divisione 2008–09 season. However, the club also faced money problems.
Aurora Pro Patria 1919 Today
On June 27, 2009, a new company called Aurora Pro Patria 1919 took over the club. This company was owned by the Tesoro family.
In the 2009–10 season, the team was moved down to Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. They were promoted back to Lega Pro Prima Divisione in the 2012–13 season. In 2014–15, they were moved down to Serie D. But they were allowed to return to Lega Pro to fill empty spots. However, they were moved down to Serie D again the next season. This meant the club was playing at an amateur level.
Pro Patria is a very important football club in the Varese area. Even with recent challenges, it has a rich history.
A Moment of Sportsmanship in 2013
On January 3, 2013, Pro Patria played a friendly match against A.C. Milan. During the game, some people in the crowd made offensive chants. Several A.C. Milan players, including Kevin-Prince Boateng, reacted strongly. Boateng kicked the ball into the stands. The entire A.C. Milan team then walked off the field to show their protest. This caused the game to stop. Because of this incident, Pro Patria had to play one game without any fans in the stadium.
