A Look Back: Prospect's History
The community of Prospect started a long time ago. It was first planned out in 1836. Back then, it was called New Prospect.
A post office opened in New Prospect in 1851. This made it easier for people to send and receive mail. However, the post office did not stay open for very long. It closed just two years later, in 1853.
