The Province of Queensland is a special church region within the Anglican Church of Australia. It covers a large area, including the Northern Territory and the state of Queensland. This province is made up of four smaller church areas called dioceses. These are the Diocese of Brisbane, the Diocese of North Queensland, the Diocese of The Northern Territory, and the Diocese of Rockhampton.
This church province was created in 1905. The Diocese of Brisbane became its main office. The current leader of the province is Jeremy Greaves. He is known as the Archbishop of Brisbane.
Before 1975, when Papua New Guinea became an independent country, the province also included the Diocese of New Guinea.

For many years, the Province of Queensland also included the Diocese of New Guinea. This diocese covered the country of Papua New Guinea. However, when Papua New Guinea gained its independence in 1975, the Diocese of New Guinea became part of a separate church province.
