The Story of Pryor
Pryor got its name from two local ranchers, Ike and Mack Pryor. Ranchers are people who raise animals, usually cattle, on large pieces of land.
A post office was opened in Pryor in 1898. A post office is where people send and receive mail, buy stamps, and sometimes get other services. This post office served the community for a long time, staying open until 1996.
