Psorothamnus is a group of plants in the legume family. These plants are usually shrubs or small trees. Many are known as indigo bush. Some are also called daleas. This is because they used to be grouped with another plant called Dalea.
These plants often have thorns and many branches. They also have a strong scent. Most Psorothamnus species have bright purple flowers. These flowers look a bit like lupin flowers. They grow in clusters called racemes. After flowering, they produce pods that are rich in glands.
Psorothamnus plants grow naturally in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico.
