Puerto Suárez is a busy river port town in Bolivia. It is located in the Santa Cruz Department, very close to the border with Brazil, about 10 kilometers away.

Where is Puerto Suárez?
Puerto Suárez is found in the Germán Busch area of the Santa Cruz Department. It sits right next to a lake called Laguna Cáceres. This lake is connected to two very important rivers, the Río Paraguay and the Río Paraná, through a channel called the Tamengo Canal. Because of this connection, Puerto Suárez is a key spot for river travel and trade. It is also where a part of the Bolivian Navy is based.
How to Get Around Puerto Suárez
This town is well-connected! You can travel to the city of Santa Cruz in the west and to Brazil in the east using major roads and train lines. There is also an airport, Puerto Suarez International Airport, which has flights for people.
A few years ago, in 2013, there was a plan to build a railway line that would connect Puerto Suárez all the way to a port in Peru!
People Living in Puerto Suárez
Puerto Suárez was started on November 10, 1875, by a person named Miguel Suárez Arana. In 2001, about 11,564 people lived there. By 2007, the number grew to around 12,546. Some people even think the population is now between 20,000 and 22,000!
