Pulaski is a small, rural village in Pulaski County, Indiana. It is an unincorporated community, which means it does not have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it is governed by the county.

History of Pulaski

Pulaski was officially started in 1855. This happened shortly after a gristmill was built there. A gristmill is a place where grain is ground into flour. The community got its name from Pulaski County itself.

Early Services in Pulaski

A post office was opened in Pulaski in 1852. This allowed people to send and receive mail. The post office served the community for many years. However, it closed down in 1927.

Pulaski's Place in the Township

Today, Pulaski is home to a high school. It is an important part of Indian Creek Township. Townships are smaller areas within a county. They help organize local services.
