Later, after India was divided into two countries, the shop's owners moved to Mumbai. They helped make a sweet called Karachi halwa very popular. This sweet is also known as Bombay halwa. Even though they keep many old recipes, they sometimes create new sweets too!

Helping People in Need

There is a special story about the shop during a tough time. In 1947, many people had to leave their homes in Karachi. Sri Prakasa, who was an important official, needed to find food for them.

He managed to get food supplies from Chandu Halwai. The shop owners were so kind that they refused to take any money for the food. It was a wonderful act of generosity during a difficult period.
