Punta Cardón is a town and parish located in the Carirubana municipality of Falcón state, Venezuela. It is found on the northwest coast of Venezuela, near the Gulf of Coro.
How Punta Cardón Grew
Punta Cardón was once a small fishing community. It was located right on the Gulf of Coro. This area is on the northwest coast of Venezuela.
In the mid-1940s, things started to change. The town became surrounded by a large oil-refining complex. This complex processes crude oil. Today, the state oil company, PDVSA, runs this important facility.
Famous Buildings in Town
A well-known Spanish architect named José Lino Vaamonde designed a special building in Punta Cardón. It was called the Club Manaure. He built it in 1953 for Shell Venezuela.
