Puthussery Ramachandran Pillai (born September 23, 1928 – died March 14, 2020) was an important Indian poet. He wrote many poems in the Malayalam language. Malayalam is spoken mainly in the state of Kerala, India.
Puthussery Ramachandran was also a smart scholar who studied Dravidian languages. These are a family of languages spoken mostly in South India. He taught Malayalam as a professor for more than 30 years.
He helped organize big events to celebrate the Malayalam language. In 1977, he was the General Secretary for the First World Conference on Malayalam language and Kerala Culture. This event was put together by the University of Kerala. He also helped organize the First All India Conference on Dravidian Linguistics in 1971.
Puthussery Ramachandran passed away on March 14, 2020, when he was 91 years old.
