Puzzle Play was a fun Australian TV show made for young kids. It aired on Network Ten every weekday morning. The show was all about solving puzzles and learning new things! It first started on 21 December 2006 and finished on 28 January 2011.
About Puzzle Play
This show was a daily adventure for its viewers. It ran for about 30 minutes each episode. The main hosts were Patrick MacDonald, Kellyn Morris, and Liam Nunan. They helped guide everyone through the puzzles.
How the Show Worked
Each episode of Puzzle Play started with a special computer character named Cassie. Cassie would show a puzzle made of four pieces. Each piece had a different shape on it. As the show went on, a clue was given for each puzzle piece.
These clues were usually short videos. A host would talk about the shape shown on the puzzle piece. They would share interesting facts and information about it. The hosts often visited different places like schools, kindergartens, and parks to find clues.
As each piece was removed, a bigger picture slowly appeared in the background. By the end of the show, the three hosts would guess what the final picture was. All the puzzle pieces and clues were connected to this main picture.
Characters and Friends
Besides the human hosts, there were two other special characters.
- Cassie was a computer with a friendly female voice. She was the one who presented the puzzles to the hosts and viewers.
- Penny was a fun, bus-like vehicle. Penny would make a beeping sound and take the hosts to different locations for their clues.
Show History
Puzzle Play took over from another popular children's show called In the Box. It first aired in late 2006. After entertaining kids for several years, Puzzle Play was replaced by a new show called Wurrawhy on 31 January 2011.
