Pye Engström (born Pye Ester Agneta Nanneson on 8 June 1928, and who passed away on 7 October 2025) was a talented Swedish sculptor. She was known for creating beautiful art pieces, often from stone.
Pye Engström's Artistic Journey
Pye Engström was born in Danderyd Municipality, a place in Sweden. This was on June 8, 1928. From a young age, she showed a great interest in art. She attended several important art schools to learn and improve her skills.
First, she studied at the Konstfack (University of Arts, Crafts and Design) from 1945 to 1948. During the same period, she also studied at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. These schools helped her develop her artistic talents. Later, from 1948 to 1953, she continued her education at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Denmark. This extensive training helped her become the skilled sculptor she was.
Pye Engström was married to Clas Engström, a writer. He passed away in 2017. Pye Engström herself passed away on October 7, 2025, at the age of 97. She left behind a wonderful legacy of sculptures for everyone to enjoy.
