Danderyd Municipality (Danderyds kommun) is a small area north of Stockholm in Stockholm County, Sweden. It is one of the smallest municipalities in Sweden. However, it is known for being one of the wealthiest. The main town, or "seat," of the municipality is Djursholm. Danderyd is also part of the larger Stockholm urban area.
The original rural area of Danderyd was divided in the early 1900s. Towns like Djursholm and Stocksund became separate areas. But since 1971, Danderyd Municipality has been reunited. Its borders are now much like they were a long time ago. In 2019, about 32,857 people lived there. The municipality is made up of four main districts: Danderyd, Djursholm, Stocksund, and Enebyberg.
