Qasim Akhtar (born June 8, 1991) is an English actor. He is well-known for playing Chesney Karib in the TV show Shameless. He also played Zeedan Nazir in the soap opera Coronation Street.
Qasim Akhtar's Acting Journey
Qasim Akhtar started his acting career in 2006. His first role was as Asif Kahn in the movie Mischief Night.
He then joined the cast of Shameless. In this popular Channel 4 show, he played the character of Chesney Karib. He was a regular actor on the show for many years.
Qasim also appeared in the TV series Waterloo Road. He had roles in this show in both 2007 and 2011.
In 2014, Qasim got a big role in Coronation Street. He played Zeedan Nazir, who was the son of Kal Nazir. He left the show in 2018 but came back in 2021. He then left again in February 2023.
