Quackenkill (sometimes called Quacken Kill) is a small community. It is known as a hamlet in Rensselaer County, New York, United States.
History
Imagine what Quackenkill was like in the 1860s! Back then, this small town was busy producing different materials. They made a type of rock called argillite, which is used in building. They also produced wood, tanbark (used for tanning leather), and charcoal.
These products were important for the area. They were sent to Troy, a larger city nearby. In 1860, Quackenkill was quite small, with only about 10 houses.
