The Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center is a big building in Bettendorf, Iowa, United States. It's a place where many different events happen, like large meetings, shows, and parties.
Building the Center
The idea for this center started a while ago. When it was first planned, people called it the Bettendorf Events Center.
Construction Timeline
Work on the center officially began with a special ceremony on October 6, 2006. Building the center faced a small delay in late 2006. This was because the project cost a bit more than planned. Also, the company that would run it, Isle of Capri, was finishing some important studies. Once construction started again, the center was finished in early 2009. It officially opened its doors on January 24, 2009.
Space Inside
The convention center has a lot of room inside. It has a total of 24,000 square feet of space. This includes a very large ballroom that is 15,000 square feet. There are also eight smaller rooms that can be used for private meetings or smaller groups.
Ownership and Management
The city of Bettendorf owns the convention center. This means the city is in charge of the building itself. The center is managed by the Isle of Capri Casino & Hotel. This hotel is connected to the convention center by a special walkway called a skywalk. This makes it easy for guests to go between the two buildings.
