The Quebec Aerospace Museum (which is Musée de l’aérospatiale du Québec in French) is a super cool place to learn about planes and space! It's an aviation museum located in Hangar H-18 at the Montreal Saint-Hubert Longueuil Airport. You can find it in Saint-Hubert, Quebec, Canada, which is a part of the city of Longueuil. This museum officially opened its doors on August 23, 2018, as a non-profit group.

How the Museum Started

The Quebec Aerospace Museum was created by three people who loved aviation: Pierre Gillard, Gilbert McCauley, and Éric Tremblay. Pierre Gillard became the first Director General, which is like the main leader of the museum. They worked hard to open this exciting place for everyone to enjoy.

Amazing Aircraft You Can See

The museum has a collection of awesome aircraft on display. Some of these planes are being restored, which means they are being carefully fixed up to look their best!

  • Avro Canada CF-100 Canuck Mk 5
    • This is a type of Canadian jet fighter plane.
    • It arrived at the museum on November 2, 2018.
    • It was loaned from the Canadian War Museum.
    • The museum staff are working to restore this aircraft.
  • Duruble Edelweiss RD02A
    • This is a special type of aircraft called a glider.
    • It was given to the museum in 2021.
    • It has been at the museum since July 10, 2021.
    • This glider can actually fly!
  • Kitty Hawk Flyer
    • This unique aircraft has been on display at the museum since July 23, 2021.
    • It was donated by the Kitty Hawk Corporation.
    • It is the only Kitty Hawk Flyer in all of Canada!
  • Mortensen 1PM
    • This is another type of glider.
    • It was built in 1976 by an engineer named Peder Mortensen.
    • The glider was donated to the museum on September 30, 2021.
    • It was moved to the museum on October 26, 2022.
    • It is currently being restored by the museum team.
