In the 1800s, people from Britain sometimes spelled the town's name as Quesaltpeque.

How Many People Live There?

The number of people living in Quezaltepeque has changed over time. In 1850, it was thought that about 4,000 people lived in the municipality. By 2018, the population had grown to more than 28,000 people.
