Quimistán is a town located in Honduras, a country in Central America. It is also the name of a larger area called a municipality. A municipality is like a local government area that includes a main town and the smaller villages or communities around it.
The town of Quimistán is part of the Santa Bárbara Department. In 2013, the town itself had about 6,270 people living there. The entire Quimistán municipality is much larger. In 2020, it was estimated that about 60,047 people lived in the whole municipality. Another important town within the municipality is Pinalejo, which had a population of about 6,478 people in 2013.
