Early Life of Quincy Jones
Quincy Jones finished high school in 2002. He went to Middle College High School in Seattle, Washington. Watching the famous comedian Chris Rock made him want to try stand-up comedy.
Quincy started doing comedy shows in 2006. Six years later, he moved to Los Angeles to focus on comedy full-time. He once said he performed stand-up more than 1,000 times in just one year!

In August 2015, Quincy Jones learned he had a serious illness. He began receiving special medical treatments. His friends wanted to help him achieve a big goal. They started a fundraising campaign online called Kickstarter. Their goal was to collect money to create a stand-up comedy special starring Quincy.
Quincy's story became very popular. He even appeared on Ellen. The fundraising campaign successfully raised over $50,000. With this support, Quincy filmed his comedy special. It was recorded at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles on April 4, 2016. The special was called Burning the Light. It was shown on HBO on June 2 of that year. In 2021, Quincy shared that he was planning a second special. He wanted to call it "Still Here" and hoped to record and release it that same year.
