How Rá-Tim-Bum Was Made
Rá-Tim-Bum was created by Flávio de Souza and Fernando Meirelles. Their goal was to help teach young children, especially those in pre-school. The show ended up having 192 episodes.
The show's name, Rá-Tim-Bum, and its theme song were created by Edu Lobo. The name was inspired by the last line of the Brazilian happy birthday song, Parabéns pra Você. Rá-Tim-Bum was very successful. Because of its popularity, other children's TV shows like Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum and Ilha Rá-Tim-Bum were made. There's even a special TV channel called TV Rá-Tim-Bum, which is a pay TV channel.
