RaVaughn Nichelle Brown, known professionally as RaVaughn, is an American singer and songwriter. She was born in Carson, California. RaVaughn is the older sister of actress Rhyon Nicole Brown.
Her music is mostly R&B, but it also has pop and rock sounds. She has been inspired by famous artists like Mary J. Blige, Aretha Franklin, and Beyoncé. RaVaughn has recorded demo songs and sung background vocals for many artists. These include Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, and Brandy.
RaVaughn released her first collection of songs, called an EP, in 2012. It was titled Love Always… The Introduction. She is currently a background singer for Justin Timberlake. She is on his 2024 The Forget Tomorrow World Tour. This tour started in April 2024 and will end in December 2024.

RaVaughn's Journey in Music
After going to college in New York City, RaVaughn started making demo songs. She then became a background singer for the popular TV show Glee. She sang on the show for three seasons.
Soon after, she signed with Ne-Yo's music company, Compound University. In 2011, she also signed with Columbia Records. RaVaughn attended the 2013 Grammy Awards with singer-songwriter Ne-Yo.
In June 2013, RaVaughn talked with The Source magazine. She discussed her music career and future plans. She shared her hopes for her album, Love Always. She said she wanted to inspire women to be strong and in control of their lives.
Her Music Releases
RaVaughn's first EP, Love Always… The Introduction, came out on September 14, 2012. After it was released, a music website called Urban Music Daily praised her. They said she was an amazing R&B artist. They also noted the strong feelings she put into her songs.
On February 21, 2013, she released "Better Be Good". This song featured the rapper Wale and was meant to be the first song from her album. On March 15, 2013, she shared a sample of her album on SoundCloud. It included songs like "It's Over" and "Sick of Crying". Her second song, "Best Friend", was released on May 16, 2013.
By 2014, RaVaughn was no longer working with Compound and Columbia Records. Because of this, her album, Love Always, was never officially released.
Live Shows and Performances
RaVaughn performed her song "Best Friend" on Sirius XM Radio in April 2013.
On May 7, 2013, RaVaughn joined Yahoo!'s On the Road tour. She performed with Kendrick Lamar in Cincinnati, Ohio. During an interview with Yahoo!, she shared stories about her past and life on tour.
RaVaughn also performed at the 106 KMEL's Summer Jam concert. This show took place on June 9 in Oakland, California. She shared the stage with artists like Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, and Wale.
Staff members at Concrete Loop were very impressed by RaVaughn's performance of "Best Friend". This special show happened on June 26, 2013. RaVaughn also performed at the 2013 BET Awards in Los Angeles, California. She was one of the "Music Matters" artists featured on June 30, 2013.
