Her first time on television was in the police drama The Bill in 1988. She appeared in this show again in 1989 and later in 2008. In 1991, she got a bigger role as Beverly Armitage in the comedy series Lazarus and Dingwall, which was shown on BBC2.

From 1999 to 2000, she became widely known for playing Jackie Owen in the long-running soap opera EastEnders. She was in 81 episodes of the show, making her a familiar face to many viewers. After EastEnders, she appeared in medical dramas like Holby City in 2004 and Doctors in 2006. She also had a role in HolbyBlue in 2007.
In 2009, Race Davies joined the cast of Hollyoaks for a few episodes. She played Christine Carpenter, who was the mother of characters Zoe and Archie Carpenter.
