In 1990, she landed the role of Kiswana Browne in the TV series Brewster Place. This show was produced by the famous Oprah Winfrey. During the 1990s, Rachael Crawford acted in several TV movies. She played the main character, Tai Babilonia, in the true-story film On Thin Ice: The Tai Babilonia Story. In 1996, she appeared in Captive Heart: The James Mink Story. In this movie, Rachael played Myra Mink, a young Black woman in the 1850s. Her character became enslaved by her husband, who was a white man. She worked again with actor Louis Gossett Jr. the next year in In His Father's Shoes.
