Rachael English (born in 1969) is a well-known Irish broadcaster and writer. She is famous for presenting many radio shows. These include Five Seven Live, RTÉ News at One, and Morning Ireland. She has been a permanent presenter on Morning Ireland and Saturday View.

Early Life and Education
Rachael English was born in Lincolnshire, England. Her mother, Ruth, grew up there. Rachael spent her childhood in Shannon, Ireland. Later, she went to Dublin City University. There, she studied Communication Studies.
Broadcasting Career Highlights
Rachael English started her career in radio in 1989. She became a presenter at a new radio station called Clare FM. After a short time in public relations, she joined RTÉ 2fm in August 1991. She worked there as a newsreader.
Joining RTÉ News
At Christmas in 1991, Rachael joined the News at One team. This happened because other staff were not available. From there, she often filled in for presenters on big shows. These included Morning Ireland, Five Seven Live, and Today with Pat Kenny.
Presenting Five Seven Live
In June 2000, Rachael became the main presenter of Five Seven Live. During her six years on the show, she won an award. This was the PPI award for her reporting on the September 11 attacks. Her father even appeared on the show sometimes. He gave horse racing tips for listeners. Rachael left Five Seven Live in August 2006. The show was then replaced by Drivetime.
Other Important Work
Rachael has covered many major events for RTÉ Radio. She reported on elections since 2002. She also covered the 2004 Summer Olympics. Other important news events she reported on include the signing of the Good Friday Agreement. She also covered the September 11 attacks.
She presented The Late Debate on RTÉ Radio 1 until 2010. She also filled in for Marian Finucane on The Marian Finucane Show. In August 2009, she began presenting Saturday View. This was after the previous presenter, Rodney Rice, retired. In October 2010, she became a permanent presenter of Morning Ireland.
In 2022, Rachael was honored by the IMRO. She was added to their hall of fame. On May 30, 2024, it was announced that Rachael would be the new presenter of RTÉ News at One. This happened after Bryan Dobson retired.
Writing Career
Rachael English also has a successful career as a writer. In 2012, she signed a deal to write two books with Orion publishers. As of February 2024, she has written seven novels.
