Rachel Matthews is an American actress. She is famous for her roles in the movies Happy Death Day and Happy Death Day 2U.

Rachel Matthews' Early Life and Acting Start

Rachel Matthews was born in 1993 in Los Angeles, California. She is the oldest daughter of actress Leslie Landon and Brian Matthews. From a young age, Rachel loved acting. She enjoyed watching movies starring Shirley Temple. This led her to take tap dancing and voice lessons. By age 10, she joined a local theater group.

Rachel continued her acting journey by studying at New York University Tisch School of the Arts. While in college, she became good friends with actress Camila Mendes. They later became roommates when they moved back to Los Angeles. Rachel also became friends with musician Maggie Rogers. Both Rachel and Camila appeared in Maggie's music video for "Give a Little."

Rachel Matthews' Film and TV Roles

In 2017, Rachel Matthews made her first movie appearance. She starred in Happy Death Day, a film directed by her uncle, Christopher Landon. In the movie, she played Danielle Bouseman, the president of a sorority house. She played this role again in the sequel, Happy Death Day 2U, which came out in 2019.

That same year, Rachel took on another exciting role. She was cast as the villain Magpie in the TV series Batwoman. She also had a small part in the Hulu series Looking for Alaska. Rachel even lent her voice to a character named Honeymaren in the Disney animated movie Frozen II.

In March 2020, it was reported that Rachel had tested positive for COVID-19.

In July 2023, Rachel starred in a music video. She appeared in country singer-songwriter Lainey Wilson's video for her song "Watermelon Moonshine". In June 2024, Rachel Matthews and her friend Camila Mendes started their own production company called Honor Role.
