Rachel McFarlane's Music Journey
Starting Young
Rachel's professional music career began in 1992. She was a featured singer in a group called The Family Foundation. They recorded a song together called "Express Yourself." This was her first step into the music world!
Joining Dance Groups
After The Family Foundation, Rachel joined a house music group named Loveland in 1994. She sang on their popular song "Let the Music (Lift You Up)," which became a big hit, reaching number 16 on the UK music charts. That same year, she also recorded a song called "Turn Up the Power" with another group, N-Trance.
Loveland's Hits
With Loveland, Rachel helped create several other successful songs. These included "(Keep On) Shining," "I Need Somebody," and "Don't Make Me Wait." These songs were popular in the UK and helped Loveland become well-known in the dance music scene.
Working with N-Trance
Her collaboration with N-Trance on "Turn Up the Power" was another important step. It showed her versatility as a singer, working with different groups and styles of dance music.
Solo Success and LMC
In 1998, Rachel released her very first solo song, "Lover." It was a hit, making it into the Top 40 songs in the UK. This song was so popular that it was re-released in 2005 and became a Top 40 hit again!
In 2004, Rachel teamed up with the group LMC. She sang the vocals for their song "Take Me to the Clouds Above." This song was a massive success, reaching number one on the UK charts! Two years later, she worked with LMC again on another song called "You Get What You Give."
On Stage: Musical Theatre
Beyond recording music, Rachel has also performed on stage. She appeared in the London production of the musical Rock of Ages. In the show, she played the characters Justice and Mother, showing her talents as a stage performer.
