Rachel Mary Roxburgh (21 September 1915 – 13 April 1991) was an Australian artist, potter, and historian. She was also an environmental activist, meaning she worked to protect nature.

Early Life and Art Education
Rachel Roxburgh was born in Point Piper, Australia, on 21 September 1915. She went to Ascham School and then studied art at the East Sydney Technical College. There, she got excellent grades in her art courses in 1932 and 1933. After that, she continued her art studies at the Adelaide Perry Art School in Sydney.
Awards and Her Legacy
In 1979, Rachel Roxburgh received a special award called the British Empire Medal. This award was given to her for her great work and service to the community.
A painting of Rachel Roxburgh from 1939, made by artist Adelaide Perry, is kept at the National Portrait Gallery of Australia. This gallery collects and displays portraits of important Australians.
The Art Gallery of New South Wales has many of Rachel Roxburgh's papers. These include 21 boxes of documents about her work as a painter and potter. They also have her personal letters, diaries, sketchbooks, and notes from 1945 to 1990.
The National Library of Australia holds a large collection of her research. This includes 19 boxes of her detailed studies on the history of old colonial buildings. She gathered these papers between 1960 and 1986.
In 1993, the National Trust held a special exhibition to show Rachel Roxburgh's work. This show, called a Retrospective Exhibition, featured her paintings, pottery, books, and photos. It was held at Cooma Cottage in Yass and Riversdale, Goulburn.
