Rachel India True (born November 15, 1966) is an American actress. She is well-known for her roles in movies like The Craft (1996), Nowhere (1997), and Half Baked (1998). Rachel True also played Mona Thorne in the TV show Half & Half. This show was on from 2002 to 2006.

Rachel True was born in New York City, USA. She is the middle child of three. Her father has Ashkenazi Jewish roots. Her mother is African American. Rachel's younger sister, Noel, is also an actress. Rachel True studied at New York University.
Rachel True's Acting Career
Starting Out in Television
Rachel True first appeared on TV in 1991. It was on an episode of The Cosby Show called "Theo's Final". In 1993, she moved to Los Angeles. She made her first movie appearance in the comedy CB4. She played the girlfriend of Chris Rock's character.
On television, she was in episodes of many popular shows. These included Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, Beverly Hills, 90210, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Family Matters. She also acted in TV movies like Moment of Truth: Stalking Back (1993) and A Walton Wedding (1995). In 1995, she had a supporting role in the movie Embrace of the Vampire.
Breakthrough Roles in Movies
In 1996, Rachel True got a big role in the supernatural horror film The Craft. She played Rochelle Zimmerman, a member of a teenage group of friends. Rachel shared that she had to "fight" to get an audition for the part. Her role was originally written for a white actress. But that did not stop her from trying out.
In 1997, she starred in the comedy-drama movie Nowhere. The next year, True played Dave Chappelle's love interest in the comedy movie Half Baked. From 1997 to 1998, she also had a recurring role on The Drew Carey Show. She played Janet Clemens. From 1999 to 2000, she appeared in the ABC drama series Once and Again.
Independent Films and TV Series
Rachel True acted in several independent movies. These included With or Without You (1999) and Groove (2000). In 2000, she starred with Monica and Essence Atkins in the romantic drama Love Song.
From 2002 to 2006, True starred with Essence Atkins again. They were in the UPN comedy series Half & Half. They played half-sisters who barely knew each other until they grew up. She returned to movies in 2007. She had a supporting role in the comedy The Perfect Holiday.
In later years, she appeared in smaller films and TV movies. These included Social Nightmare (2013) and Sharknado 2: The Second One (2014). In 2017, Rachel True worked as a tarot-card reader in Echo Park.

Rachel True released her book, True Heart Intuitive Tarot, Guidebook And Deck, in 2020. She appeared in the horror films Agnes and Horror Noire in 2021. In 2022, she joined the cast of the second season of the Amazon Prime Video comedy series Harlem. Also in 2022, True was cast in Half Baked 2. This is a sequel to the 1998 comedy. She played her original role of Mary Jane Potman again.
