Radenska is a very famous brand of mineral water from Slovenia. It's known all over the world! This company, Radenska d.o.o., makes one of the oldest and most well-known brands in Slovenia.

The Story of Radenska Water

The story of Radenska mineral water began in 1869. A man named Karl Henn, who owned land in Radenci, started filling the first bottles of this special water. His company, Radenska Water Spa, grew to be very big. It became one of the most recognized companies in the area, which was then called the Yugoslav Kingdom.

A Family Business Grows

Radenska stayed a family business for a long time. Karl Henn's family, including Josef Karl Hoehn and Maria Karolina Henn, continued to build it up. Their son, Josef Hoehn, took over next. Then, his son, Werner Johann Josef Hoehn, married Wilhelmine Witlschnig. Wilhelmine was a very strong and smart leader. She helped the business grow a lot, even though it was hard for women to lead companies back then.

After Werner Hoehn passed away, Wilhelmine kept growing the business. She later married Dr. Ante Saric, a well-known doctor. Together with their children, Wilhelm and Rudolf, they made the company even bigger. It included the factory, the Radenci Spa Resort, and another spa called Šmarješke Toplice. They also owned many other properties like forests and farms.

Challenges and Changes

During a difficult time in history, the family and Radenska faced big challenges. Their son Wilhelm passed away. Ante and Wilhelmine were leaders in a group called the Partisan Resistance. This group was fighting against the people who had taken control of their country. In 1945, Ante Saric was sadly killed.

Soon after, the war ended, and a new government came to power. This new government took away the family's businesses, land, and homes. Wilhelmine had lost her first husband, her son, and her second husband. She and her 16-year-old son, Rudolf, had to leave their home country.

For over 30 years, Rudolf and his children have been trying to get the Radenska Water and Spa back for their family. They have gone to many court hearings. The government of Slovenia has worked to keep Radenska from being returned to the family.

New Ownership

In December 2014, a company called Kofola Group bought Radenska from the Slovenian government. They paid about 70 million Euros. Even though the family believes the government didn't own Radenska fairly, Kofola Group continues to own the business. The family is still working to get their ownership recognized.

The famous "Radenska Three Hearts" logo has been used since 1936. An artist named Milko Bambič designed it in 1931. The three hearts were meant to represent the three main groups of people in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia at that time: Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes.

Sponsorships

Radenska also supports sports! The company is the main sponsor of a cycling team called Ljubljana Gusto Santic.
