Patricia Rae Peppers is an American politician who served in the Montana House of Representatives. She represented the people of Montana's 41st House District from 2013 to 2021. When she was first elected in 2012, Rae Peppers won against the person who held the seat before her, Sterling Small.

Serving in the Montana House of Representatives
How She Was Elected
In 2012, Rae Peppers decided to run for a seat in the Montana House of Representatives. This is a group of people who make laws for the state of Montana. She ran without anyone challenging her in the first round of voting, called the Democratic primary. Then, in the main election, she won against Sterling Small. She was re-elected in 2014 without anyone running against her.
Making a Difference
During her time in office, Rae Peppers worked on important laws. In 2013, she helped create a law called House Bill 447. This law was very special because it helped provide money for college to people in Montana who had received a Purple Heart. The Purple Heart is a special award given to members of the U.S. military who are injured or killed while serving. She was inspired to do this after her son, Joshua Peppers, was injured while serving in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan.
Working on Committees
While in the House of Representatives, Rae Peppers was part of different groups called committees. These committees help review and prepare laws before they are voted on by everyone.
