Starting in Radio Journalism
Rafael Bello began his career in journalism in 2003. He produced and hosted a sports part of a radio show called "Carril Deportivo." This show was broadcast all over the Dominican Republic.
Later, in 2006, Bello created his own sports talk show called "Desde las Gradas." It was an interactive show where listeners could join in. He worked with many other journalists, including the experienced sports journalist Ivan Brea.
In 2010, Bello became a commentator for the official MLB (Major League Baseball) games broadcast in the Dominican Republic. After moving to the U.S., he continued to commentate for the Licey Tigers baseball team's international broadcasts during the 2011–2012 season.
In 2015, Bello joined 1050 AM ESPN Deportes Radio in New York. He produced and hosted his weekend show, "El Locker Room 1050 con Rafael Bello." He also produced segments for WADO 1280, another radio station.

In 2006, Rafael Bello started as a commentator for the Licey TV broadcasts of the Dominican Summer League games. These are minor league games for Major League Baseball in the Dominican Republic.
