Rafael Serrallet's Musical Journey
Rafael Serrallet started playing the guitar when he was 12 years old. He studied with José Tomás, who was a student of the famous guitarist Andres Segovia. Rafael also went to the Spanish Academy in Rome.
He earned a special degree in music (a PhD) from the Technical University of Valencia. He also got a Master's degree in Education.
Rafael has been playing guitar for over 25 years. He has given more than 1,000 concerts in 80 different countries. This makes him one of the most experienced Spanish guitar players in the world.
In 2018, Rafael Serrallet became the first classical musician to play on all seven continents in one year. This amazing world tour included a concert in Antarctica!
As a solo artist, Rafael has played with many orchestras. Some of these include the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Transylvania State Philharmonic Orchestra. He also enjoys playing chamber music, which is music for small groups of instruments. He has recorded many CDs, both by himself and with other musicians.
World Record for Music
Rafael Serrallet holds a Guinness World Record! In 2018, he became the first musician to play a concert on every continent in just 154 days and 22 hours.
He performed concerts in places like Chicago (USA), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and Neko Harbour (Antarctica). He also played in Oviedo (Spain) and Mombasa (Kenya).
Sharing Music as a Teacher
Rafael Serrallet has taught music at conservatories in Spain. Today, he teaches special master classes to students around the world. These classes take place at universities and music schools.
