Raimundo Fernández-Villaverde y García del Rivero (born January 20, 1848 – died July 15, 1905) was an important Spanish politician. He served as the Prime Minister of Spain two times. He was also known as the Marquess of Pozo Rubio.

Raimundo Fernández-Villaverde was born in Madrid, Spain. He was a very bright student.
Education and University
At just 21 years old, he finished his Law studies. He graduated from the Central University of Madrid. Later, he became a professor at the same university. He earned a special degree called Doctor of Philosophy.
A Career in Spanish Politics
Raimundo Fernández-Villaverde was a member of the Conservative Party. This was a political group in Spain.
Entering Parliament
In 1872, he was chosen to be a representative. He represented the area of Caldas in the Spanish Parliament. The Parliament is like a country's main law-making body.
Important Government Roles
On March 31, 1884, he became the civil governor of Madrid. This meant he was in charge of the city's local government.
From 1880 until he passed away, he held many important jobs. He was a minister in charge of different government departments. These included:
