Ramón Sánchez's Football Journey
Playing for Clubs in El Salvador
Ramón Sánchez started his professional football journey in El Salvador. He played for several top teams in the country's first division. These teams included Juventud Independiente, Arcense, San Salvador, Chalatenango, and Alianza.
During the 2009 season, while playing for Alianza, he scored three goals. This made him the second-highest scorer on his team that year. Overall, he played in 227 games in El Salvador's top league. He scored a total of 19 goals during his time there.
Playing in Major League Soccer
In 2009, Ramón Sánchez joined the San Jose Earthquakes. This team is part of Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States. In his first year with the Earthquakes, he played 10 games and scored two goals. He left the team on June 29, 2010.
Returning to El Salvador and Beyond
After his time in the MLS, Sánchez returned to El Salvador. In July 2010, he signed a one-year contract with Águila. Once that contract finished, he moved to Isidro Metapán for the 2011 season.
In February 2013, Sánchez went to play for FC Vostok. This team is in the Kazakhstan Premier League in Kazakhstan. After his career with the national team ended, Sánchez played for Zakho FC in the Iraqi Premier League. This league is not officially recognized by FIFA. Some of his former teammates, José Henríquez and Cristian Castillo, also joined teams in the Iraqi Premier League.

Playing for El Salvador's National Teams
Ramón Sánchez represented El Salvador at different age levels. In 2002, he won a gold medal with the Salvadoran Under-22 team. They won this at the Central American and Caribbean Games, beating Mexico in the final.
He made his first appearance for the senior national team in June 2003. This was a friendly game against Honduras. Before his career with the national team ended, he had played in 74 games and scored 2 goals. He also played in 22 FIFA World Cup qualification matches. Sánchez also took part in several major tournaments. These included the 2001 UNCAF Nations Cup and the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2003, 2007, 2009, and 2011.
