Ramón Alfredo Sánchez Paredes was born on May 25, 1982, in San Juan Opico, El Salvador. He is a football player from El Salvador. In 2013, he was banned from playing professional football for life. This happened because of issues related to fair play during games when he was playing for the El Salvador national football team.

Playing for Clubs
Ramón Sánchez has played for many professional football clubs in El Salvador. These include Juventud Independiente, Arcense, San Salvador, Chalatenango, and Alianza. He played 227 games in El Salvador's top league and scored 19 goals.
In 2009, Sánchez joined the San Jose Earthquakes, a team in the Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States. He scored two goals in 10 games during his first year with the team. He left the team in June 2010.
Later in 2010, Sánchez signed a one-year contract with C.D. Águila in El Salvador. After that, he moved to A.D. Isidro Metapán in 2011. In February 2013, Sánchez went to Kazakhstan to play for FC Vostok in their top league.
After he was banned from playing in FIFA-recognized leagues, Sánchez joined Zakho FC in the Iraqi Premier League. This league is not recognized by FIFA, so he was still able to play there. Other players who were also banned, like José Henríquez and Cristian Castillo, also joined teams in the Iraqi Premier League.
Playing for His Country
Ramón Sánchez also played for the national teams of El Salvador. In 2002, he won a gold medal with the Salvadoran Under-22 team. They won against Mexico in the final of the Central American and Caribbean Games.
He first played for the main El Salvador in June 2003. This was in a friendly game against Honduras. Before his ban, he played 74 games for his country and scored 2 goals. He played in 22 FIFA World Cup qualification matches. He also played in several big tournaments like the 2001 UNCAF Nations Cup and the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2003, 2007, 2009, and 2011.
On September 20, 2013, Ramón Sánchez was one of 14 players from El Salvador who were banned for life. This ban was due to their involvement in issues related to fair play in football games.
