Ramon Solsona i Sancho was born in Barcelona, Catalonia, on February 7, 1950. He is a well-known Catalan writer and publicist. He studied Romance Philology, which is the study of languages like Spanish, French, and Catalan. He also used to be a high school teacher.
Ramon Solsona is famous for his funny and ironic writing style. He has worked with many newspapers like Avui, Diari de Barcelona, and La Vanguardia. He has also been a part of radio shows on stations like Catalunya Ràdio and RAC 1. Ramon Solsona's Career
Ramon Solsona has had a varied career. He even wrote poetry that was often funny, using the pen name Lo Gaiter del Besòs.
His novel Les hores detingudes was very successful. It won three different literary awards in the same year! This book was so popular that it was translated into both Spanish and French.
He has also worked in television as a writer. He helped create stories for TV shows like Agència de viatges, Estació d'enllaç, and El cor de la ciutat. These shows were broadcast on TV3, a TV channel in Catalonia.
In 1998, Ramon Solsona wrote the words for the special song celebrating 100 years of the famous football club, FC Barcelona. The music for this song was composed by Antoni Ros-Marbà.
In 2010, he received a very important award, the premi Sant Jordi de novel·la, for his book L'home de la maleta. This award is one of the most respected literary prizes in Catalonia.
