Randall Ives Emmett (born March 25, 1971) is an American film producer. He is the co-founder of the movie production company Emmett/Furla Oasis Films. He has helped make over 100 movies.

Emmett is known for producing a certain type of low-budget action movie. These films often feature a famous, older actor on the poster to attract viewers. However, the star actor usually appears in the movie for only a few minutes. This style of filmmaking became his signature.

He also appeared on the reality TV show Vanderpump Rules with his former partner, Lala Kent.

Early Life and School

Randall Emmett was born in Miami, Florida. He went to the New World School of the Arts for high school. After graduating, he moved to New York City. There, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School of Visual Arts.

In 1996, Emmett moved to Los Angeles to start his career in the movie industry. He began by working as an assistant at a talent agency.

Career in Filmmaking

Getting Started

In 1995, Emmett started his Hollywood journey as a personal assistant to actor Mark Wahlberg. A character from the HBO show Entourage is said to be based on Emmett.

He wanted to produce movies and later met George Furla. Furla helped fund his dream. Together, they started the company Emmett/Furla Films in 1998.

Making Movies

Emmett learned a lot about producing from Avi Lerner, another producer. His first big project was the 2003 movie Out for a Kill, starring Steven Seagal. This movie was made on a small budget but was successful, especially in Eastern Europe.

This success created a formula for his company. They would make low-budget action movies with well-known older stars. This strategy helped them get funding to make more films. His company, which later became Emmet/Furla Oasis Films (EFO), produced many movies this way.

Over the years, Emmett and his company faced several business disagreements and lawsuits. Many of these issues were about how money was handled on their film projects.

One of his most well-known films was Lone Survivor. He also helped finance the award-nominated 2019 film The Irishman. However, many of his other films have been called low-quality by critics.

In 2023, a documentary was made about his career. It discussed disagreements he had with people he worked with at his company. Starting with the film Cash Out, Emmett began using his middle name, Ives, as a professional name.

Other Activities

Playing Poker

Emmett began playing poker in 2012. He has competed in professional tournaments and has won four of them. He has also appeared on TV shows about poker, like Poker After Dark. As of February 2021, he had won over $590,000 from poker tournaments.

Personal Life

In 2009, Emmett married actress Ambyr Childers. They have two daughters together. The couple divorced in 2017.

Later, Emmett was engaged to Lala Kent, a personality from the TV show Vanderpump Rules. They have one daughter, Ocean, who was born in 2021. Emmett and Kent ended their relationship in October 2021.
