Randolph Barlow was an important church leader in Ireland. He lived a long time ago, in the 16th and 17th centuries. He became an Archbishop in the Church of Ireland. This means he was a very high-ranking priest. He served as the Archbishop of Tuam from 1629 until he passed away in 1638.

Early Life and Studies
Randolph Barlow was born around the year 1572. He went to Cambridge University. There, he studied at Pembroke College, Cambridge. In 1593, he became a fellow at the college. This meant he was a senior member of the university.
He continued his studies and earned several degrees. In 1594, he received his Master of Arts. Later, in 1600, he was awarded a Doctor of Divinity. These degrees showed he was a very learned person.
His Church Career
After his studies, Randolph Barlow became a priest. His first known church job was in 1601. He worked as a parish priest in a place called Ripton Regis. Over the years, he held many important roles in the church.
In 1612, he became a canon at Kildare Cathedral. A canon is a priest who is part of a cathedral's governing group. He also became the Archdeacon of Meath in the same year. An archdeacon helps the bishop manage the church area.
He continued to move up in the church. From 1614 to 1618, he was the Dean of Leighlin. A dean is the head of a cathedral. In 1618, he became the Dean of Christ Church, Dublin. This was a very important position in the capital city.
Becoming an Archbishop
On February 6, 1629, Randolph Barlow was chosen to be the Archbishop of Tuam. This was a very high honor. He was officially made an archbishop in April 1629. This ceremony took place in Drogheda.
He was allowed to keep some of his previous church roles. He kept his job as Dean of Christ Church, Dublin, for a few more years. He also kept the rectory of Athenry. He resigned from the deanery of Christ Church, Dublin, in December 1634.
Family and Later Life
Randolph Barlow married Elizabeth Wheeler. Her father, Jonas Wheeler, was also a bishop. Randolph and Elizabeth had at least one daughter. Her name was Elizabeth, and she later married a man named Sir Francis Hamilton, 1st Baronet, of Killock.
Randolph Barlow passed away while still serving as Archbishop. He died in Tuam, County Galway, on February 22, 1638. He was 66 years old. He was buried in St Mary's Cathedral, Tuam.
