Randy Brown, born on May 22, 1968, is an American who used to play professional basketball. He was a talented guard in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and later became a coach. Brown is especially famous for being part of the Chicago Bulls team that won three championships in a row! He also helped make the "What time is it" chant popular before games, which was started by another player, Cliff Levingston.

Randy Brown's NBA Journey

Randy Brown started his professional basketball career after being picked by the Sacramento Kings in the 1991 NBA Draft. He played for the Kings for four seasons. During this time, he scored 1,349 points. However, he became most well-known for his time with the Chicago Bulls.

Brown joined the Bulls in 1995. He brought a lot of energy and a tough playing style to the team. He was a key player coming off the bench during the Bulls' amazing "three-peat" from 1996 to 1998. A "three-peat" means winning three championships in a row! Fans really liked Randy Brown.

After the 1998-99 NBA season, there was a "lockout." This is when players and team owners can't agree on rules, so games stop. After this, many star players like Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman left the Bulls. Randy Brown was one of the few experienced players who stayed. He then became a full-time starter for the team. In the rest of the 1998-99 season, he had his best career numbers. He averaged 8.8 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game.

After two more seasons with the Chicago Bulls, Brown played briefly for the Boston Celtics and the Phoenix Suns. He retired from the NBA in 2003. By the end of his career, he had scored 3,148 points and made 1,420 assists.

After Playing: Coaching and Management

After his playing career, Randy Brown continued to work in basketball. In July 2009, the Chicago Bulls hired him as their director of player development. This job meant he helped players improve their skills. The next year, he became a special assistant to the general manager. In 2013, he was promoted again to assistant general manager. He worked with the Bulls in these roles until 2018.
