Ransford Brempong (born July 22, 1981) is a former professional basketball player from Canada. He used to play for the Fraser Valley Bandits in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL).
Today, Ransford is the Lead Assistant Coach for the Bandits. He also helps young players through his WCT Hoops basketball group. He wants to give the next generation of players in British Columbia chances to get better.

Ransford Brempong's Basketball Journey
Ransford Brempong started his basketball journey in college. He played for the Western Carolina Catamounts team. He was a starting player for five years.
College Star
While playing for Western Carolina, Ransford became a record-breaker. He broke the all-time shot block record for his conference. This showed how good he was at blocking shots!
Playing Pro
After college, Ransford became a professional player. He played for teams in different countries.
- He played for Matrixx Magixx and Donar in the Netherlands.
- He also played for Bayer Giants Leverkusen and Gloria Giants Düsseldorf in Germany.
In 2018, Ransford returned to playing basketball after six years away. He joined the St. John's Edge team in Canada. The next year, in 2019, he played for the Fraser Valley Bandits in the CEBL.
Playing for Canada
Ransford also spent almost eight years playing for the Canadian National Team. He started with the Junior National Team in 2001. Later, he joined the Senior Men's team and played for them for three summers.
During his time with the national team, Ransford got to play with and against many famous basketball stars. These included players like Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, Dirk Nowitzki, Yao Ming, Steve Nash, and Carmelo Anthony.

Ransford Brempong was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. His parents came from Ghana, a country in West Africa.
Early Life and Family
In 1993, Ransford moved to Toronto. He spent his elementary and high school years in Thornhill, Ontario. When he was in his last year of high school, he was chosen as one of the top five players in the greater Toronto area.
He then spent five years in North Carolina while attending Western Carolina University.
Overcoming Challenges
In 2012, Ransford was in a car accident. He broke his back, which was a very serious injury. He spent the next four years working hard on his recovery. Thanks to his dedication, he was able to make a full recovery and play basketball again six years later!
Today, Ransford lives in North Vancouver, British Columbia. He is married and has three children.
