Rattle Snake facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Rattle Snake is an exciting steel roller coaster located at Walibi Holland, a popular theme park in the Netherlands. This thrilling ride was built by a company called Zierer, known for creating fun attractions. It's a classic coaster that has been a part of the park for many years, offering twists and turns for riders.

The Roller Coaster's Journey

Rattle Snake has quite a history, with several name changes over the years! It first opened in 1994 when the park was known as Walibi Flevo. Back then, it had a different name: Keverbaan.

New Owners, New Names

In the year 2000, a big change happened. The theme park was taken over by Six Flags, a well-known entertainment company. With this change, the roller coaster also got a new name, becoming Road Runner. Six Flags decided to give the track a new look, painting it brown instead of its original red. However, by 2004, they decided to paint it back to its bright red color.

Later, the park changed its name again to Walibi World. The Road Runner coaster was then renamed Woks Waanzin. This name was linked to a mascot called Wok.

Becoming Rattle Snake

In 2011, the park changed its name one more time to Walibi Holland. With this new name, the Wok mascot was no longer part of the park. Because of this, the coaster got its current and final name: Rattle Snake!

Around this time, the Rattle Snake roller coaster also moved to a different part of the park. It took the place of another ride called Flying Dutchman Gold Mine. This means the coaster has seen many changes, from its name to its location!

How Many Riders?

Rattle Snake is a popular ride that can handle many visitors. It has the ability to give rides to about 1000 people every hour. This helps keep the lines moving so more people can enjoy the fun!
