Raymond Stanley Tenorio (born February 8, 1965) is an American-Guamanian politician. He used to be a police officer in Guam. From 2011 to 2019, he served as the ninth lieutenant governor of Guam. Ray Tenorio is a member of the Republican Party. Before becoming Lieutenant Governor, he was a Senator in the Legislature of Guam from 2003 to 2011. In 2018, he ran for governor of Guam but did not win.

Early Life and School
Ray Tenorio was born on February 8, 1965, in Orlando, Florida. He lived in Orlando for a while. When he was about ten years old, he moved to Guam with his mother and stepfather.
He finished high school at George Washington High School in Guam in 1983. In 1984, he got a certificate in Criminal Justice from Guam Community College. Later, he earned two degrees from the University of Guam. He received a bachelor's degree in public administration in 2000 and a master's degree in the same field in 2011.
Career Journey
Before becoming a politician, Ray Tenorio worked as a police officer for fourteen years in the Guam Police Department. He also led two security companies.
Serving in the Guam Legislature
Ray Tenorio was first chosen to be a Senator in the Guam Legislature in November 2002. He received many votes in both the 2002 and 2004 elections. He started his first term as Senator in January 2003. He served four terms in a row before becoming Lieutenant Governor in 2011.
Becoming Lieutenant Governor of Guam
In 2010, Eddie Calvo, a Republican candidate for governor, chose Ray Tenorio to be his running mate. A running mate is someone who runs for a lower office (like Lieutenant Governor) with a candidate for a higher office (like Governor).
Calvo and Tenorio won their party's primary election in September 2010. A primary election is when members of a political party choose their candidates.
Then, in the main 2010 Guam gubernatorial election, Eddie Calvo and Ray Tenorio won by a small number of votes. They were sworn into office on January 3, 2011, in Hagåtña, Guam's capital.
Running for Governor in 2018
In January 2018, Ray Tenorio announced he wanted to become the next Governor of Guam. He chose former senator V. Anthony "Tony" Ada to be his running mate. They ran without opposition in their party's primary election. However, they lost the general election to Democrat Lou Leon Guerrero.
Personal Life
Ray Tenorio is married to Madoka Hosotani Tenorio. They live in Yigo, Guam. He has five children: LaDonna, Nicole, Raymond Jr., Rome Scott, and Richard. He also has many grandchildren.
