Rayna Gellert (born December 15, 1975) is an American musician. She is known for playing the fiddle and acoustic guitar. Rayna is also a talented singer and songwriter. She specializes in a type of music called old-time music. This style is a traditional American folk music.
Rayna used to be part of a band called the Freight Hoppers. From 2003 to 2009, she played with an all-female old-time band named Uncle Earl. In 2003, she was a special performer at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. This is a big event that celebrates different cultures. She has also performed with other groups and artists. These include the dance company Rhythm in Shoes and the band Toubab Krewe. She has toured in the United States, Europe, and Chile.
Rayna has been a finalist many times at the Appalachian String Band Music Festival. This festival is held in Clifftop, Fayette County, West Virginia.

Rayna Gellert was born on December 15, 1975. She grew up in Elkhart, Indiana. Later, she lived in Asheville, North Carolina. Now, she lives in Nashville, Tennessee. Her father, Dan Gellert, is also a traditional fiddler and banjo player.
Rayna first learned to play the violin in a classical style. But in 1994, she started playing the old-time fiddle. This was when she moved to North Carolina to attend Warren Wilson College. She earned her college degree from Warren Wilson College. Rayna plays a special fiddle that belonged to her great-grandfather. He was a musician from Hungary.
