Early Life and Musical Journey

After college, she lived in China for a while. She thought about becoming a lawyer there. But before a planned trip back to China, she visited a meditation center. This experience changed her mind. She decided to follow her dream of making music. Soon after, she got a record deal in Nashville, Tennessee.

Playing with Uncle Earl

In Tennessee, Abigail met KC Groves. KC was a founder of the band Uncle Earl. Abigail joined the band and toured with them for five years. This "all G'earl" (all-girl) group released two albums. In 2008, Abigail taught American folk music at Sichuan University. That same year, the Sparrow Quartet released a full album. It was also produced by Béla Fleck.

After the album, the quartet toured North America. They played at many big festivals. They returned to China for more performances during the 2008 Summer Olympics.

It included electronic music mixed with voices and sounds from the disaster area.

In 2010, Abigail started recording her second solo album, City of Refuge.

She also went on "The Silk Road Tour" with her band "The Village." They traveled across China, from Hohhot to Ürümqi. Their goal was to connect people through music. They performed at schools, universities, and theaters. They also played in town squares and on city walls. They even played with local musicians from different Chinese groups.
